In a recent appellate victory for L&G Law Group , the Illinois Appellate Court for the Third Judicial District affirmed summary judgment in favor of a local hospital. The plaintiff alleged that his deceased mother fell and was injured when automatic doors closed on her abruptly. The trial court rejected plaintiff’s claim and entered summary judgment in favor of the hospital, finding that plaintiff failed to produce admissible evidence of negligence. Plaintiff appealed from the summary judgment obtained by trial attorneys Jim Bream and Tony Marqui. The appeal was successfully defended by Deborah O’Brien. The appellate court held that summary judgment was proper because plaintiff failed to put forth sufficient evidence that the doors were dangerous, or that a condition of the doors caused the decedent’s injury.
