Ms. Root concentrates her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis on medical malpractice defense, representing physicians, nurses, and hospitals in complex litigation.
Professional Activities
Ms. Root is admitted to practice in Illinois. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association.
Education
Ms. Root received her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, graduating with a Certificate in Advocacy. While at Loyola, Ms. Root received CALI awards for obtaining the highest grades in Legal Writing II and Advocacy. She also won numerous awards for her participation in moot court competitions, including Best Advocate at the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Prior to law school, Ms. Root received a B.A. in Classics with a minor in Philosophy from the University of Kentucky.
