L&G Law Group Volunteers for the Greater Chicago Food Depository

Yesterday morning, twenty six of L&G’s employees volunteered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Last year, with help from 22,800 volunteers, the GCFD distributed more than 71 million pounds of food to hungry people in the greater Chicago area.

Our mission: to repack produce for distribution to the GCFD’s network of pantries and programs, including soup kitchens, food pantries, and programs to provide food to children, older adults, and veterans. L&G volunteers helped to repack and prepare 15,211 pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables for distribution, the equivalent of providing 12,675 meals for hungry people in the greater Chicago area. In a time-span of less than 4 hours, each L&G volunteer repacked the equivalent of 226 meals for people in Chicago who rely on GCFD for sustenance.

The people of L&G are more than attorneys, paralegals, assistants, clerks & administrators. L&G Law Group is committed to giving back to the community – a community that has given so much to so many of us.

We thank everyone who took the time to plan and participate in yesterday’s volunteer event. We plan to have several more volunteer opportunities in the near future, so stay tuned for news.LG Food Depository
