Mr. Code has been practicing almost exclusively in the area of medical malpractice defense since he completed his education, and became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1989. Over the years, he has represented the interests of Chicago area hospitals and physicians in both State and Federal Courts in cases involving not only allegations of medical malpractices, but also matters relating to institutional negligence, premises liability and medical products liability. He is an experienced trial lawyer, having tried cases in State Court on behalf of both hospitals and physicians, and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar, as well.
Professional Activities
Since 1989, Mr. Code has lectured at various continuing education seminars on evolving medical, nursing and institutional malpractice issues faced by hospitals, physicians and long-term care facilities in today’s health care climate. He also authored a supplemental chapter in the Health Care Law IICLE: Theories of Liability and Malpractice Insurance For Health Care Institutions.
Education
Mr. Code received his B.A. from Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, in 1985 and his J.D. from Willamette University College of Law, Salem, Oregon, in 1989. Mr. Code also holds a Masters Degree in Management from Willamette University Graduate School of Management, which he also received in 1989.
