Myra Brown has been representing hospitals and healthcare providers for over 30 years. She specializes in acting as Underwriters’ Representative exclusively for healthcare insurers and reinsurers, and she consults with healthcare providers on claims management, procedures, and coverage issues. Before going into private practice, Ms. Brown was Deputy Chief of the Civil Actions Bureau of the Office of the Cook County State’s Attorney and was Supervisor of the Hospital Litigation Division. In that capacity, she oversaw defending claims against physicians and healthcare providers in the Cook County Hospital System, one of the largest municipal healthcare systems in the United States.
Ms. Brown obtained her Juris Doctor in 1974 from DePaul University and her Bachelor of Arts from Drake University in 1971. She is admitted to the Bar in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar, and the Supreme Court of the United States. She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association; the American Bar Association; Professional Liability Underwriting Society, the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys; and the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management.
