Steve is an experienced and successful trial attorney with a widely varied civil litigation background in antitrust, consumer fraud, contracts, employment, healthcare, professional negligence, trademark and copyright, and wills and trusts. Having had trials and appeals to the appellate and supreme courts throughout the country, Steve has practiced at all levels of the state and federal court systems. In 2017, he tried a medical negligence case to a jury and obtained a verdict of over $1 million on an informed consent theory. At the appellate level, he most recently helped persuade the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to affirm the grant of summary judgment he obtained and the Eight Circuit to reverse the dismissal of a RICO complaint he co-authored.

After graduating from law school, Steve began his career as an attorney with a large Chicago firm he had been clerking for while engaged in other pursuits. He stayed there until 2008 when he took a position as an associate general counsel at the American Dental Association. The following year, he returned to private practice.

Steve earned his Juris Doctor degree from DePaul University College of Law in 1996, where he was awarded various scholarships and honors. He is a graduate of the prestigious Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University and holds a Master of Music degree from DePaul University.

He is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois and U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit. He has also appeared pro hac vice in Connecticut, Florida, Kansas, Minnesota, Ohio and Tennessee.
